Hailing Liao - Dr. Liao joined the lab in September 2002 and brought her expertise in molecular mechanisms of atherosclerosis and superb technical ability in all things molecular. She has established an RNAi system for HNF4 to help us study its target genes and function in liver cells.
Joanna Camba-Colon - Joanna currently a Ph.D. candidate in Cell, Molecular and Developmental Biology, entered the lab in July 2002 bringing with her years of experience as a technician working with the AIDS virus in Los Angeles. Since October 2002 she has been working on the phosphorylation of HNF4.
Tuong Chi (John) Ta - John a Ph.D. candidate in Cell, Molecular and Developmental Biology has entered the lab in the Summer 2002 and has been working on the project to characterize the HNF4 ligand. He plans to go to medical school after he graduates. Wendy Hwang-Verslues - Wendy is a student of the Environmental Toxicology Ph.D. Program and has successfully passed her Qualifying Examinations. She is pursuing an independent project in the lab.Karthikeyani Chellapa - Karthi came to the lab after completeing graduate studies in Horticulture in Hisar India. She joined the lab in 2004 and is currently a Ph.D. student in the Cell, Molecular and Developmental Biology program.
Eugene Bolotin - Eugene, originally from Russia, completed his undergraduate degree at U.C. Davis. He joined the lab in 2004 and is currently enrolled in the Genetics Genomics and Bioinformatics program. His project will continue the search for HNF4 target genes.
Maira Elena Torres Padilla-- Fall 2001, Pasteur Institute
Marina Kacevska-- Fall 2006, University of Sidney
Goran Malojcic-- Summer 2003, University of Zagreb,Croatia
Vedran Radojcic-- Summer 2002, University of Zagreb,Croatia
Jane Evans - a Staff Research Associate. Jane is our lab manager and general keeper of all things important in the lab. In addition to working on characterization of antisera and sending out of HNF4 reagents, she performs Westerns and immunoprecipitations to characterize HNF4 in a variety of sources including cell lines and tissues. She won a Spot Award in Spring 2003 for performance above and beyond the call of duty while Dr. Sladek was on sabbatical in Paris, France.
Periodically we are in need of a responsible, conscientious lab helper to help with making solutions, preparation of plasmid DNA, etc. Previous lab experience or a lab class is preferred. If you are interested, please contact Dr. Sladek by e-mail to set up an appointment.
